Strawberry Tea

12.15.2014

strawberry tea
One of my favorite things about visiting the Mobile area is making a stop at Spot of Tea for a phenomenal brunch, complete with endless glasses of strawberry tea. Everything on the menu is beyond delicious & the atmosphere is excellent.  The restaurant has undergone a renovation in the past few years but the food is just as delectable.

The strawberry tea is their signature & I always drink my weight in it before brunch is over.  Recently, I found a way to start creating this delicacy at home for any-time enjoyment.  The secret to this refreshing beverage is Torani strawberry syrup.  It took some trial & error before concocting the right mix, but I think I've finally got it down to a science.

If you ever find yourself in Mobile, Alabama then be sure to make a stop at Spot of Tea downtown in Cathedral Square.  You won't be sorry.

Strawberry Tea:
1/2 c Torani strawberry syrup
3-4 family size tea bags
1 c Splenda or sugar (depending on desired sweetness)
Water
Gallon size pitcher

  • Place 3-4 family size tea bags into a 2 cup measuring glass filled with water.
  • Microwave for 4 minutes or just before water boils.
  • Pour into a gallon pitcher & refill measuring glass using same tea bags.
  • Repeat this process 3-4 times.
  • Mix Splenda or sugar into gallon pitcher.
  • Add 1/2 cup strawberry syrup.
  • Mix well & served chilled.
